Background: As a special four-engined VIP plane taxies in at Seoul's Kimpo air Force Base, representatives of the United Nations Command in Korea are at the airport. Emerging from the plane is General Sir Richard Hull, Commander-in-Chief of British For East Land Forces.
The General, who is on a three day visit to South Korea, was greeted at the airport by Major General Chae, Chief Korean (South) Delegate to the United Nations Command Armistice Commission and acting British Ambassador Mr. Clemens.
The United Nations Command in Korea presented a guard of honour for the visiting General. Accompanied by General Magruder of the U.N. Command, the British General inspected the guard of Honour. During in inspection, he stopped to speak a while to a British Soldier belonging to the British contingent of the U.N. forces in Korea.
Soldiers from 16 nations, contributing to the United Nations forces in Korea, were in the Guard of Honour. They carried their countries flags and the United Nations flag as well.
Then a courtesy call on President Sygman Rhee. Rhee and Hull discussed Korea's defence problems in general. On the visit to Rhee General Hull was accompanied by Republic Korea's Army Chief of Staff General Song, British Ambassador Clemens, and General Tarr, Chief of Commonwealth Liaison Group to the United Nations.
