  • Description

King Paul of Greece and Crown Prince Constantine were the guests of the British Royal Navy, March 26, when they went aboard the Aircraft Carrier HMS "Albion", at Phaleron Bay. There were received by the British Ambassador in Greece, Sir Roger Allen, and Rear Admiral R.M. Smeeton, Flag Officer Aircraft Carriers.

This is the first time the King has officially visited a British warship since the start of the outbreak of violence in Cyprus. While on board, the King was shown round the aircraft carrier and he inspected members of the crew.

HMS "Albion" - together with HMS "Salisbury", a frigate, and the RAF oil tanker, "Oil Flow" - is on a three-day informal visit to Athens and Piraeus.
