    South Africa's Foreign Minister, Dr Hilgard Muller, has been in London for talks with British leaders -- including Prime Minister Harold Wilson and Foreign Secretary James Callaghan -- on the Rhodesian constitutional dispute and other African problems.

    Dr Muller, arrived in London last Friday (17 January), and South Africa's Prime Minister John Vorster discussed the Rhodesia question with Mr Callaghan earlier this month when the British Foreign Secretary visited their country on his seven-nation African fact-finding mission. It is believed that their talks in London were a continuation of those discussions about the role South Africa is prepared to play in resolving the Rhodesia dispute.

    In an interview on Tuesday (21 January) with Visnews African Editor William Ward, Dr Muller spoke of his hopes for a constitutional agreement between Rhodesia's Prime Minister Ian Smith and black African leaders. But he stressed that South Africa does not believe that third parties should "prescribed to the Rhodesians how to solve their internal problems." a transcript of the interview follows:
