Background: From Eaglehawk Neck, boats like the "Lee Hard" set out for the Tuna grounds off the South East Coast of Tasmania. Here, three Americans - members of a recent trade mission to Australia - are ready for a day among the big game. A Hobart fisherman, Doctor Colin Clark, was host for the outing. A few last minute adjustments and the quiet waters of Pirates' Bay were left behind.Under the expert guidance of the skipper, Peter Hindrum, the "Lee Hard" heads for the openseas ... For may visitors this is their first glimpse of the spectacular Tasmanian coastal scenery.

The first catch - a Tuna of the small skipback variety distinguished by several narrow stripes. It's small compared with big Marlin and Sharks often caught in these waters. A relatively new sport in Tasmania, Tuna fishing has come on rapidly in recent years, Australia's leading big game fisherman are regular visitors, Here Mr Ralph Binney, a banker from Boston, holds his own.

To Fortescue Bay - a haven for the fishing boats which work the Tasmanian waters in the big game season from February to June. And for the americans, pictorial proof of their catch. Some weighed more than sixty pounds.
