Background: Latest figures to be released from India show that at least three million of the ten million East Bengali refugees have now returned to the new state of Bangladesh. But for many of them, it can be a tragic experience.

visnews cameraman Prem Prakash visited the village of Kholamura, in Tangail District, north of Dacca on Friday (January 14th) to film the common experience confronting many refugees. They return to discover their homes destroyed and, as yet, no sign of any relief supplies reaching their villages.
