Background: President Omar Bongo of Gabon rounded off his visit to France this week by visiting the French ski resort of Auton with a party which included his wife and 17 children.
It was at auron that the gabonese president learned to ski when he stayed at the winter sports centre last year.
This year, the President and his large family of children -- many of whom are adopted -- are the centre of attraction whenever they take to the ski slopes.
President Bongo, who arrived in Auron on Sunday (9 February), is expected to stay in the resort for a week before returning home to Gabon.
He had just completed a series of discussions with french officials, including talks with French President Giscard d'Estaing on the energy crisis and the proposed conference between oil producers and consumers.
