Background: The opening Session of the WHO Rural Health Conference was inaugurated by the Indian Minister of Health Mr. Karamkar on 14th October at Delhi's Vigyan Bhavan. The Conference was attended by the delegates from Afghanistan, Burma, Ceylone, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Thailand, Portuguese India Etc. Etc.
Most of the South East Asian Countries are facing the difficult problem of providinf Medical Aid to the rural population.
In India also the state of rural health is awesome and the government is making every effort to provide medical aid.
Thus this Conference was quite important and bent upon drawing a programme for aid to rural areas of South East Asia.
