    The United Nations International Children's Emergency (UNICEF) is to help the Ivory Coast schooling programme under an agreement concluded in Abidjan yesterday (21 Sept). The agreement was signed for the Ivory Coast by the Minister for National Education, M. Jean Guede Lorougnon and for UNICEF by M. Cheikh Hamidou Kane.

    The project, involving about 550,000 dollars (230,000 sterling) wroth of Unicef Assistance, will concentrate on the training of school teachers at the training college in Bouake. The aid will be spread over three years and includes provision for visual teaching aids and emphasises the setting up of agricultural training centres. Vehicles will be provided for the management board of the primary teaching division of the education service.
