  • Description

Three Japanese baseball players signed by the San Francisco Giants have been working out in the Giants' farm system in Casa Grande, Arizona (western USA). Pitcher Masanori Murakami, Third Baseman Tatshiko Tanaka and Catcher Hiroshi Takahashi are all Japanese high school stars who were signed by the Giants.

The three are playing in the Giants' minor league system, and will play during the forthcoming season for Fresno in the Class A California league. Class A teams are one step below the major leagues. Ut is unusual for freshmen baseball players to begin at such a level. If successful with Fresno, one or all of the three could be with the Giants major league team during the 1965 season.

Meanwhile, they have been working out with the Fresno team in Arizona where the Giants and their minor league teams practice before the regular season opens. The Giants say they are doing well.
