Background: Argentina's Carlos Monzon is in France preparing to defend his World Middleweight Title in a match with another Latin American boxer, Mexican Joss ???. The fight is scheduled for Saturday (9 February) in a circus tent in Paris. French film star and boxing fan Alain Delon is sponsoring the fight. He was at Monzon's training camp in Neuilly on Monday (4 February) to watch the Argentina train with his sparring partner.

Monzon's strength lies in his punch. A powerful right-hand has helped him take an impressive number of victories in recent years. On Saturday night, he will be fighting for 650,000 france purse (65,000 pounds sterling). It is not the first time Monzon has been in France. Two year ago, he was in Paris to defend his title against Jean-Claude Bouttier.
