AMONG THE CONGOLESE UNDERGOING TRAINING OUTSIDE THEIR COUNTRY ARE A GROUP OF 21 MEN WHO YESTERDAY, (FRIDAY) GRADUATED FROM THE POLICE COLLEGE AT IKEJA, NEAR LAGOS, IN NIGERIA.

    THE COURSE AT THE COLLEGE LASTED FOR FIVE MONTHS DURING WHICH THE CADETS ARE GIVEN A THOROUGH GROUNDING IN POLICE WORK. IT INCLUDES CRIME DETECTION, TRAFFIC AND CROWD CONTROL AND LAW.

    FOR THE CONGOLESE, IT'S BACK HOME TO FILL URGENTLY NEEDED JOBS IN THE COUNTRY'S LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. THEY'LL NOT ONLY HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO PUT INTO PRACTICE WHAT THEY'VE LEARNED BUT PASS ON THEIR KNOWLEDGE TO THEIR BROTHER OFFICERS IN THE CONGO.
