    United States' Vice-President, Spiro Agnew, arrived in Bangkok on Thursday (1 February) on the third left of a seven-nation South-East Asian tour for talks on America's post-war role in Indo-China. He was greeted at Donmuang Airport by General Sawaeng Senanarong a member of the Thai Cabinet, Deputy Foreign Minister, General Chartchai Chunhawan, Mr. Leonard Unger.....U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, and Major-General Andrew Evans.... Commander of the U.S. Military Assistance Command. Mr. Agnew didn't speak to newsmen at the airport but hurried off to begin discussions at the American Embassy. He was later to reassure Thai leaders that the United States would continue military and economic aid to Thailand "after the end of the Vietnam war". The amount of aid will be the subject of further discussions. General Chartchia has told reporters he will ask the United States to completely re-equip the 200,000-strong Thai Forces, to ensure Thailand's security in the post-war period.
