    Mr. MacMillan spoke in praise of Lincoln and his ideals and said "This statue is the symbol of unity between America and ourselves."
    Leader of the Liberal Party, Mr. Jo Grimmond, and US. Ambassador to London, Mr. John Hay Whitney, attended the short ceremony.
