    Background: Pollution experts from five North Sea Nations opened a two-day conference at the Hague on Wednesday (15 September). They discussed the many problems of pollution caused by the dumping of industrial wastes into the North Sea. The five nations - Britain, West Germany, France, Holland and Belgium have sent about 20 experts to the talks which are a part of a series of preparatory meetings between a 15 nation conference on pollution set for mid-October in Oslo. The conference at the Hague concerned itself with the compilation of a list of waste materials which will be prohibited from dumping into the North Sea and the Limitation of the amounts of less dangerous materials being dumped.
