ADENJI: "The Council for Namibia regrets the failure to involve it actively in connection with the implementation of resolution 309 -- an omission which, the Council hopes, will be avoided in any future action in pursuit of that resolution. In the light of recent experiences, the Council for Namibia felt that it could not emphasise too strongly the need for total support by all organs of the United Nations for its legal status for the territory of Namibia. It must, I repeat again, be adequately involved in future efforts in implementation of resolution 309 if the United Nations is not to on its own erode from its legal position as far as Namibia is concerned. Finally, Mr President, I wish to emphasise again that the United Nations must resist with all its resources any attempt at vulcanisation of the territory of Namibia. The unity be an article of faith for the United Nations in...for their implementation of resolution 309. I thank you, Sir".
