Background: The seamless steel tubing mill of the Anshan Iron and Steel Company in China was built in 1953. The mill is highly mechanized.
In recent years, with the staff and workers holding high the great, red banner of Mao Tse-tung's thought, studying and applying Chairman Mao's Works in a living way and carrying forward the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and working hard, the mill has made fresh and positive contributions to China's Socialist construction.
Last year alone, the mill turned out more than 180 different kinds of products for special purposes. These products are high-temperature and corrosion-resistant and have high strength and high precision.
Under circumstances of lacking equipment and experience, the staff and workers toppled all restrictive ideas, emancipated their minds and broke through foreign conventions. A drive of technical innovation and technical revolution was energetically launched, resulting in the successful production of this simple and ingenuous tube drawing machine.
The machine is capable of making capillary tubes of different specifications, including those with a diameter of 0.38 mm. i.e. the thickness of four hairs.
The supply of this kind of steel capillary tube with the wall as thin as paper had always replied on import in the past. Now, armed with Mao Tse-tung's thought and imbued with revolutionary bravery, Chinese workers have finally succeeded in making this highly accurate machine after surmounting some thirty odd technical bottlenecks.
