Background: Ghana's national soccer team - the Black Stars - defeated the Togo national side four-nil before a large crowd at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday (29 February). The match was part of the Black Starts' preparations towards their impending Olympic qualifier against Senegal.

In Sunday's game neither side scored until the second half. Both teams missed many scoring chances and the crowd got little satisfaction from the final score.

Although the Stars won by a wide margin, they were helped by poor goalkeeping from Togo's Denagnon, rather than from brilliant efforts on their side.

The first half never came alive and the second half started with Ghana making three changes. Joe Sam, Dan Owusu and Michel Lomo replaced Yaw Sam, Yaw Mark and Awuley Quaye.

Three minutes into the second half, Kwasi Owuasi Owusu scored after goalkeeper Denagnon failed to hold the ball. Seven minutes later Togo, with some inspired playing, shot the ball into the Stars' net but referee Odai ruled shooter Afanon off side.

Razak made in two-nil in the 71st minute when Denagnon dropped another save and Joe Sam pushed it across for the left winger to slam home.

Anas scored the third goal Ghana in the 82nd minute with a free kick. Togo's goalkeeper, Denagnon, was replaced soon after.

However the switch didn't stop Razak scoring his second goal of the match in the crowded goalmouth two minutes-from the end to make the final score four-nil.
