  • Description

While it's scarcely time to start counting the days to Christmas, Bavarians are able to lookahead to next spring and summer by visiting the International Fashion Week which opened today (Sunday) in Munich. More than 1,000 firms from 16 countries are represented at the fashion week with displays on stands, and during the week there will be several fashions shows.

A strong British contingent is convinced that the mini-skirt is here to stay until next summer at least and nearly every country is showing hemlines well above the knee.

Judging by the designs on the first day of the International Model Week, the Hippy cult doesn't seemed to have influenced fashion very much and flower patterns were not to be seen.

The military look remains and capes are clearly going to be high fashion for next spring.

Perhaps with a cold spring in mind, wool stands out as the dominant material in almost every colour, but invariably plain.

Although the fashion week centres on women's fashions, men' fashion were also on view. The 1968 well-dressed gentlemen should look tall and slim with very narrow trousers and high-cut jacket.
