  • Description

Emmanuel Antoniades, 47-year-old Greek research engineering chemist, recently awarded the "Hachette-Larousse" - one of France's most valued literary prizes, was filmed Oct. 25 at his home in Athens, Greece.

A graduate of the Paris Institute of Chemistry, Mr. Antoniades, spoke warmly of the honour given him by France.

"I am very happy to have been awarded the prize, and thank with all my heart the eminent committee that give me the honour. I appreciate it two-fold - because it comes from France, a county with whom my family has been associated for generations, and because it brought me among my old friends of the Paris Institute, with whom I have never lost contact."
The award, presented to Mr. Antoniades Oct. 23, is worth 500,000 francs (GBP450 sterling.)
