    A heated row broke our at the Organisation of African Unity (OAC) annual summit late on Wednesday night (18 July) over Tanzanian action in Uganda. The sixteenth OAU summit, which opened in the Liberian capital of Monrovia on Tuesday (17 July), had already witnessed drama when six delegates walked out during Egyptian President Anwar Sadat's defence of his country's peace treaty with Israel. Nigerian Head of State, General Olusegun Obasanjo, was in the chair when the question of Tanzania's activities in Uganda was raised.

    SYNOPSIS: The Nigerian leader has been a leading opponent of the Tanzanian action.

    Uganda's new president, Mr. Godfrey Binaisa, reacted bitterly to criticism of the role played by Tanzanian leader, Dr. Julius Nyerere, in ending Idi Amin's rule in Uganda.

    OAU Secretary Peter Onu read a message from a Ugandan action group.
