HARMAN: "I would like to ask you all to join me in a toast....for the good life and the peace, to Frank and the peace, to Frank and Barbara Sinatra."

    SINATRA: "I'll drink to that."

HARMAN: "The last word goes to Frank Sinatra."

SINATRA: "The dream has become a reality and, I kind a feel filled up about this day, because the promise we made not only became a fact, we saw it with our own eyes. I am grateful to be among you; I am honoured to know you; and I am calmed by the thought that my name, my family name, will be forever where young people will gather, and learn, and live with each other in what I call the Garden of Love in Israel.

Now, as we prepare to return home, I leave you with what is in my heart for all of you who live here: peace for all of you; peace to each of you; peace to anyone you have seen, or met, or even whom you have not met, or haven't heard of yet; peace to those who came before you; peace to those who will follow you. Peace. Peace. Peace."

Background: In Jerusalem, members of parliament on Sunday (9 April) gave a formal dinner in honour of American singer and actor Frank Sinatra for his financial backing of the Hebrew University in the city. Earlier, Mr. Sinatra had appeared at the Mount Scopus campus of the university, where he dedicated the Frank Sinatra International Student Centre. The university would not say how much the building had cost, or how much the singer had contributed. At the dinner, he received three standing ovations without singing a single song. The toast for Mr. Sanatra, and his wife Barbara, was proposed by the university president, Dr. Avraham Harman.
