    Background: Bahrain's Ambassador to London, Sheikh Sulman bin Daiv Al-Khalifaf was driven in a horse-drawn carriage to Buckingham Palace on Friday (4 Feb) to present his credentials to the Queen.

    The Sheikh was accompanied by Sir Michael Fitzallen Howard, a former British military man with a wide experience in the Middle East.

    SYNOPSIS: A visit to Buckingham Palace is always made by ambassadors from independent states when they arrive in London to take up their duties. Bahrain's ambassador is Sheikh Sulman bin Daiv Al-Khalifaf. The usual crowd of London sightseers received a bonus as the carriages drove back out of the palace after the audience on their way to the Ambassador's residence in London's Sloane Street.
