Background: Mr. Sterling Cole, Director General of the IAEA, (International Atomic Energy Agency) today (Jan. 13th 1958) announced the appointment of four Deputy Directors General to head the major activities of the Agency.
Dr. Paul R. Jolles , a Swiss national, until now Acting Director General of the IAEA, as head of the Department for Administration, Secretariat and External Liaison.
Mr. Hubert de Laboulaye, presently Technical Adviser to the Foreign Affairs Department of the Commissariat for Atomic Energy of France. as head of Department for Technical Operations.
Prof. V.V. Migulin, Professor of Physics of Moscow University, as head of the Department for Training and Information.
Dr. Henry Seligman, presently Director of the Radioactive Isotope Division at the Harwell Research Establishment of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, as head of the Department for Research and Isotopes.
In addition, Dr. Karl Gruber, presently Austrian Ambassador in Washington, was appointed to act as Special Adviser to the Director General on questions concerning the establishment of the Agency in Vienna. (Dr. Gruber was not present)
The Deputy Directors General in charge of the technical and scientific departments of the Agency are expected to assume their duties in Vienna early in 1958.
