Background: The Foreign Ministers of the six Common Market countries met in Brussels today (Monday) for a series of sessions. First they met with their counterparts of the four applicant countries (Britain, Ireland, Norway and Denmark), to discuss the preparations for the Autumn Summit to be held in Paris.
Later, the six met to deliberate over several points on their agenda--primarily, the opening of negotiations with Algeria; the adaptation of certain agreements with Mediterranean countries vis-a-vis the enlargement of the European Economic Community (EEC); and the preparations for the United Nations conference on trade and development to be held in Chile from April 13th to May 19th.
