The sequence is as follows....Dr Walter Adams the principal showed the visitors round. In the main hall they looked at the art work, and at a picture of the Rain Goddess.... from there round the corridors and into the great main Library Hall, which was opened last year by the Queen Mother. Here they met students studying, including an African girl Mutumba Mainga, & c.u. Fio na Maken talks with the M.P.'s and Dr Mabon talks with Racheal Thomson, with Sir Eric Errington talking to the African girl on opposite sides of the table.



On the roof, the party look around the countryside.



In the various common rooms the party met girls in their own quarters, and Dr Glyn talks with Dorothy Smailes, over the ironing board.



In the common room, the College discussion groups talk with the M.P.'s Talking to the Native student, who is social secretary of Students Union is Dr Thompson. Same side of room is Dr Adams, (white hair) Dr Mabon, Students Miss Anderson, and Mr McGerry of the Debating Society.

Background: British M.P.'s have made frequent visits to this part of Africa to see what is happening out here, and get first hand information on all matters in the three territories of the two Rhodesian and Nyasaland. This time the party consists of three Conservatives and three Labour. They are, as attached. Their first cell, in a fortnight's tour, which will take them hundreds of miles was to the University College of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. Here 244 students are now in session and come from many countries.
