    Arriving at Newcastle State Dockyards, New South Wales, Australia on Friday (April 10) were Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and Princess Anne. They had arrived 30 minutes late to be present at the launching of a coastal cargo vessel, "Darwin Trader". Prince Charles was in Japan, visiting Expo-70.

    After a quick inspection tour of the apprentice training workshop, the Queen spoke briefly before smashing a bottle of champagne over the bow of the ship and cutting a tape to complete the launching ceremony.

    Security measures for the Royal party have been tightened since an anonymous telephone caller threatened that the Queen would be shot if one more Irishman was shot in Northern Ireland.
