  • Description

ISRAELI FOREIGN MINISTER ALLON AND KISSINGER EXPRESSED OPTIMISM TUESDAY THAT THEY WOULD REACH A +COMMON POSITION+ FOR THE MIDEAST DEBATE IN THE UN NEXT WEEK. KISSINGER WAS AT WASHINGTON NATIONAL AIRPORT TO GREET HIS COUNTERPART. SPEAKING TO NEWSMEN KISSINGER SAID THEY WOULD HAVE DETAILED DISCUSSIONS BEFORE THE SECURITY COUNCIL MEETING, AND THAT ME KNEW THEY WOULD BE CONDUCTED IN A VERY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE AND WOULD ACHIEVE A COMMON POSITION. ALLON SAID THAT THANKS TO THE FRIENDSHIP OF THE TWO COUNTRIES +WE SHALL HAVE GOOD TALKS AND DO OUR BEST TO REACH AGREEMENT. + ALLON ALSO ADDED THAT HIS WEAKNESS IS OPTIMISM, GUARDED OPTIMISM, AND IF KISSINGER THOUGHT THIS (A COMMON POSITIONS) IS POSSIBLE, I AM EVEN MORE OPTIMISTIC.
