Background: Visnews filmed Apr 30 the arrival at Casablanca Airport of Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, eldest son of King Mohammed V of Morocco.
The Prince, Commander in Chief of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, was returning from a visit to Cairo and Paris. He was greeted by Prime Minister Ibrehem. At a short airport ceremony he took the salute and inspected a guard of honour.
In Paris, the Prince's mission was widely seen as an effort to pave the way for a meeting between Mohammed V and French President Charles de Gaulle. The King is known to want to assist a settlement between the Algerian rebels and the French Government to end the four-year old rebellion.
In Cairo, the Prince conferred with UAR President Gamal Abdel Nasser and Cairo-based leaders of the Algerian FLN rebels who last year formed the Free Algerian Government in exile under Ferhat Abbas. Earlier the Prince was in Tunis to discuss the Algerian situation with President Habib Bourguiba.
At a reception in Cairo, the Prince said he had agreed with President Nasser that Mohammed V should visit the UAR next February and that Field Marshal Abdel Hakin Amer, UAR Defence Minister and Command-in-Chief of the Armed Forces should visit Morocco next November for Mohammed V's coronation anniversary.
