Indian Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi was greeted by huge crowds when she visited Chandbali, in Balasore District, during a tour of the cyclone-devastated areas of Orissa State.
For Mrs. Gandhi, the day spent in Orissa and away from the Indo-Pakistan crisis had a personal significance -- it was her 55th birthday.
