    Heads of State attending the 2,500th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the Persian Empire, being held at Persepolis, took advantage on Friday morning (15 October) to relax after opening events and visit each other in the informal atmosphere of their tented city. Kings, Presidents, Emperors and Government leaders were seen to stroll about conversing with other guests. Prominent among the leaders was Emperor Hails Selassie of Ethiopia, recently returned from visiting the people's Republic of China.

    SYNOPSIS: The tented city at Persepolis, where Heads of State attending the 2,500th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the Persian Empire found time on Friday morning to relax and converse after the opening events of the previous day. Kings Presidents, an Emperor, and dozens of other world leaders took advantage of the change to visit each other in the informal atmosphere.

    Emperor Hails Selassie of Ethiopia chatted to his host, the Shan of Iran. There were frequent arrivals.

    Exiled King Constantine of Greece also talked to Emperor Haile Selassie.

    President Tito of Yugoslavia was one of the busiest Heads of State during the morning...receiving a constant stream of callers at his tact.

    Soviet President Nikolai Podgorny spent some minutes talking with Hussein El Shafei the Egyptian Vice-President, and President Senghor of Senegal was also seen with Emperor Haile Selassie.
