MR. THOMSON MADE IT PLAIN IN STATEMENT IN SALISBURY YESTERDAY THAT NEITHER HE NOR RHODESIAN PREMIER IAN SMITH HAD MADE LARGE CONCESSIONS OVER INDEPENDENCE TERMS.

    MR. THOMSON RETURNED TO LONDON THIS MORNING. HE IS EXPECTED TO REPORT TOT HE BRITISH PARLIAMENT ON HIS DEALING WITH MR. SMITH ON MONDAY. IN HIS PRESS CONFERENCE IN SALISBURY, MR. THOMSON SAID.
