After the European Cup, the visit of Ipswich Town was another soccer dish set before the Old Trafford fans...

Ipswich (in the ringed stockings) kicked off - determined to make their famous opponents fight all the way in this fourth round cup battle.

So well did Ipswich succeed that the only real Manchester cheer greeted the final whistle.

After a slow start, the United slipped into top gear, playing the soccer that brought seven goals against Bolton...

But the Ipswich defence had a real solid look about it as one United forward soon realised.

Then, just before half-time, when home fans were looking really worried Bobby Charlton slammed home a rising drive - from twenty yards.

Throughout the second half, Ipswich carried the fight to their famous opponents - and United fans who have feasted on the European soccer elite, generously applauded the Second Division side...

But four minutes from time - Manchester United rose to the soccer heights-when Charlton added to goal no. two -keep them on the road back....to Wembley...
