    BRITAIN'S LABOUR PARTY OPENED ITS CAMPAIGN FOR THE 1964 GENERAL ELECTION WITH A PARTY RALLY IN LONDON TODAY (SATURDAY). THE RALLY CAME THE DAY AFTER THE PUBLICATION OF THE PARTY'S GENERAL ELECTION MANIFESTO WHICH SETS OUT THE AIMS OF THE LABOUR PARTY SHOULD IT BECOME THE GOVERNMENT.

    SPEAKING AT THE RALLY THE LEADER OF THE LABOUR PARTY, MR. HAROLD WILSON REFERRED TO THE LAST TIME THE PUBLIC WENT TO THE POLLS. ON THAT OCCASION THEY VOTED FOR LOCAL COUNCILS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY AND A PRONOUNCED SWING TO THE LABOUR PARTY WAS SEEN IN THE RESULTS.

    PUBLIC OPINION POLLS THROUGHOUT BRITAIN ARE AT PRESENT HOWEVER SHOWING A SLIGHT BALANCE IN FAVOUR OF THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY - THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT - AND MR. WILSON SPOKES ABOUT THE TORY LEADERSHIP:
    HE ENDED HIS SPEECH BY SUMMING UP THE AIMS OF THE LABOUR PARTY IF IT WERE ELECTED GOVERNMENT OF BRITAIN:
