    The joint Chad and Cameroun Commission declared in Fort Lamy on 31st May, the final day of their fifth conference, that substantial agreement had been reached on building a bridge between the two counties ever the River Charl.

    M. Abderahim Abdelmouti, Chad Minister of Commerce and Industry, said that this joint project was a sign of the good relations between the two countries and should encourage co-operation between other African countries. M. Youssoufa Daouda, Cameroun Minister of Commerce and Industry, said the complementary nature of their economics thrived on good-will and co-operation.

    The Commission set up in 1970 by Cameroun President Ahidjo and Chad President Tombalbaye aims to increase trade and improve communications between the two countries. It will meet again in November.
