  • Description

Rhadi, a Moroccan in the French Army won the Tenth Military Cross-country Championship over a five-mile course at Etterbeek, Belgium, April 2, and received his winner's medal from Belgium's Prince Albert.

Soldier of fourteen nations competed, and Rhadi sprang straight into the lead. In the third lap he began to draw away from the field, eventually sprinting to an easy victory, with Clerckx, Belgium's winner of the Ninth Military Cross-country, second and Kunen (Holland) third. France won the team - as well as the individual - championship, with the Belgian team runner-up.

This is Rhadi's second spectacular victory in successive weeks. On Mar 26 he covered nine miles at Hamilton, Scotland, 47th International Cross-country Championship for Morocco. On that occasion as well, he defeated a Belgian, Roellanto, but his team - Morocco - had to be satisfied with fourth place.
