    THE MASS "SOLIDARITY" RALLY WAS HELD IN GOVERNMENT SQUARE. FLANKING HIM ON THE PLATFORM WAS TUNISIAN PRESIDENT HABIB BOURGUIBA. OTHER MINISTERS OF THE ALGERIAN REBEL GOVERNMENT, IN EXILE IN TUNIS, WERE ALSO ON THE PLATFORM.

    NOV 1, SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE REBELLION IN ALGERIA, THE REBEL GOVERNMENT SAID THAT FRENCH FORCES HAD FIRED WANT ONLY INTO CROWDS OF PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATORS IN ALGERIA. IT CLAIMED THAT REBEL ORDER HAD BEEN FOLLOWED ALMOST UNANIMOUSLY THROUGHOUT THE VAST NORTH AFRICAN TERRITORY.

    THE REBELS WERE READY TO DISCUSS THE POSSIBILITY OF FRANCE MAINTAINING MILITARY BASES IN ALGERIA "AFTER IT BECOMES AN INDEPENDENT REPUBLIC".
