Background: The Pathet-Lao representative in North Vietnam, Mr. Pon Vichet, told pressmen in Hanoi on Wednesday (June 10) that there was very little possibility of a solution to the Laotian problem while the United States continued bombing raids in the country.
He said that the United States must halt the bombing unconditionally and that a peaceful solution should be based on the terms advocated by the Pathet Lac leader, Prince Souphanouvong.
Mr Pon Vichet condemned the South vietnamese and United States action in Cambodia and added that the people of Load, Vietnam and Cambodia should unite to fight against United States Imperialism.
While the United States and the Vientiane government continued to refuse to talk to the Pathet Lao, the fighting in Laos would go on, added Mr Vichet.
