Background: VISNEWS filmed May 28 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as 50,000 people took part in the traditional religious Corpus Christi Day procession, beginning and ending in the heart of the city at Sao Paulo's Cathedral.

Procession over, the cathedral square was packed for the celebration of mass by Sao Paulo's cardinal archbishop, Carlos Carmello de Vasioncellos Motta.

The elaborate chalice placed on a float decorated with flowers, was donated to the church by wealthy ladies of the city. Made of pure gold, it is bejewelled with precious Brazilian stones.
