Background: Sixteen thousand square miles (42,650 square kilometres) of rich farmland have been devastated in Mozambique following cyclone Felice and the massive floods that ensued. A Johannesburg cameraman who overflew one of the worst-hist areas with a BBC reporter sent back this film showing the extent of the damage.

The Portuguese territory was first hit by the cyclone a week ago, and the torrential rains that followed are reported to be the worst in the country's history--with a death toll to date miraculously low at 25 in an area where some 10,000 are estimated to have been left homeless.

We apologise for a scratch which was on the original film.
