    Delegates from eleven countries attended a seminar in Lome, Togo, on Monday (3 September, 1973) which had been organised by the Regional Institute for Red Cross Personnel in Africa. The aim of the seminar was to help newly trained Red Cross administrators to set up organisations in their own countries.

    The 33 delegates who took part, came from Togo, Dahomey, Ivory Coast, Upper Volta, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Cameroun, Canada and Switzerland, They were welcomed by Mme. Adzowoa Mivedor, the President of the Togolese Red Cross. Also on the platform were M. Alex Mivedor, the Togolese Minister of Public Works, Posts and Telecommunications; M. Edouard Kodjo, the Minister of Finance and the Economy, and Director of the Regional Institute; and M. Pierre Boissier, a representative of the Red Cross in Geneva.

    The Loma Institute caters particularly for training administrative officers for national Red Cross organisations. Many National organisations are finding they need an increasing number of trained administrators for central and regional work.
