    INTRODUCTION: The spiritual leader of Lebanon's Shi'ite Muslims, Imam Moussa Sadr, has urge the United States and the Arab nations to help to end the fighting in southern Lebanon. He made his plea during a two-day visit to Jordan for talks with King Hussein.

    SYNOPSIS: When Imam Sadr arrived in Amman on Thursday (April 14) he was greeted by Prince Read Ben Zeid, a senior member of King Hussein's palace staff.

    Imam Sadr's mission on his visit was to inform the Jordanian leaders of the general situation in his country, especially in South Lebanon where heavy fighting continues.

    His talks with Kind Hussein were at Al Hasmimiyeh Palace. Imam Sadr claimed that the south Lebanon fighting was an Israeli plot and, it ended, Israel would have a chance to swoop in and take control of the area. he urged the United States to intervene with israel. King Hussein said a concerted Arab effort was needed to case the turmoil in southern Lebanon. He was confident the Lebanese could rebuild their entire country.
