    Governor of British Somaliland, Sir Douglas Hall and Government Ministers, flew into Hargeisa, British Somaliland, May 16, after attending Somaliland independence talks in London. The Protectorate is to be given independence June 26, to enable it to unite with the Italian Trust territory of Somalia - attaining independence July 1, in accordance with a United Nations decision.

    Britain is to contribute GBP1???? million in aid to Somaliland for the first year and further amounts in subsequent years. This sum would include the cost of the aid mission and seconded military personnel.

    Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selasse, summoned separately the Ambassador of Britain, America, France, Russia, Yugoslavia and the United Arab Republic. He described the union of Somalia and British Somaliland as a "foreign inspired development and a thinly disguised move for the seizure of Ethiopian territories."
