  • Description

The most significant development of September 28 in New york, was the meeting between Soviet Premier Khrushchev and the man who has become a run-away from Russian style communism, President Tito of yugoslavia. Observers say that Khrushchev appeared glum when Tito arrived but become happier after his 1 hour and 45 minute talk with the Yugoslavian president.

Khrushchev came with his guest to the pavement outside the heavily guarded soviet mission on Park Avenue, waved Tito goodbye and then gave an account of the meeting to waiting newsmen. According to Khrushchev, he and Tito had come very close to agreement on problems of disarmament, liquidation of colonialism, the Congo and others questions before this 15th General Assembly of the United Nations. He said also that he discussed relationship between Russia and Yugoslavia but did not indicate definitely that he and Tito had finally settled their family flight.
