    A 5-day international congress for the deaf was opened in Copenhagen, Aug 8, by Prince Knud of Denmark, who gave his inaugural address in "deaf and dumb" sign language.

    Prince Knud - brother to Denmark's King Frederik and heir to the throne - has been learning the deaf and dumb finger language for over 3 months in preparation for opening the congress. His speech was translated into five languages by interpreters.
