    President Anwar Sadat, of the United Arab Republic, on Sunday (July 4) described the African Continent as being in a critical stage of struggle.

    The President was speaking at a special ceremony in Cairo's Abdin Palace where he received the credentials of the new ambassadors to the U.A.R. from Jordan, Uganda, Mali and The Netherlands.

    President Sadat also told the assembled diplomats that the African Continent was facing a struggle against what he described as imperialistic forces".

    SYNOPSIS: Cairo's Abdin Palace was the scene on Sunday of a colourful ceremony where the new ambassadors to the United Arab Republic from several African and European countries presented their credentials to President Anwar Sadat.

    First to present his credentials to President Sadat, was the ambassador from Jordan, Aly El Hiary.

    The new ambassador from Uganda, Mr. Younes Khamis. The Ugandan ambassador is a former student of Cairo's Al Azhar University. He spent two and a half years at the University.

    From Mali the new ambassador Mr. Abu Bakr Dialo.

    The new ambassador to the United Arab Republic from the Netherlands, Mr. Franz von Ofen, presented his credentials to President Sadat.

    Also presenting their credentials to the Egyptian leader on Sunday were the ambassadors from Peru and Chile.
