  • Description

A Ghanaian from Accra teaching at an English school in Essex is conducting classes in African music and dancing among his colleagues.

The teacher, Mr Felix Cobbson, started what was known as the African Black Jazz group in 1966, when it was mainly a recreational activity among the pupils.

Now teachers are involved however, and they are interested enough to make a detailed study of the music and dancing. They want to extend their repertoire, and stimulate as much interest as they can in African culture.

Their leader Mr Cobbson introduced two of their dances.
