    A committee representing the non-aligned countries began a three-day meeting in Georgetown on Thursday to prepare the ground for a foreign ministers conference. It is intended the conference should be held before the 27th session of the United Nations.

    The committee was appointed by the foreign ministers at their last meeting in October. It includes representatives from Algeria, Burundi, Ceylon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Guyana, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Malaysia, Morocco, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Yugoslavia and Zambia.

    It is the first meeting of the non-aligned nations to be held in Latin America. Chief speakers on the opening day were the Guyana Prime Minister, Mr Forbes Burnham, and the out-going chairman, Mr Kabuka Nyirenda, Zambia's acting permanent representative at the United Nations.
