HE FLEW TO ADDIS ABABA, IN ETHIOPIA, AFTER WAITING IN VAIN FOR WORD FROM THE BIAFRAN LEADER, LIEUTENANT-COLONEL ODUMEGWU OJUKWU, THAT A MEETING WAS POSSIBLE. EARLIER, IN HIS FOUR-DAY VISIT, MR WILSON AND MEMBERS OF THIS OF HIS OFFICIAL PARTY WENT ABOARD THE BRITISH ASSAULT CRUISER FEARLESS, IN LAGOS HARBOUR, WHERE THEY MET NIGERIAN OFFICIALS SOCIALLY.

    MR WILSON IS SHOWN IN THIS OFFICIAL FILM BEING WELCOMED ABOARD THE FEARLESS -- WHICH WAS BEING USED AS A COMMUNICATIONS VESSEL -- BY THE CAPTAIN. THERE HE MET SEVERAL FEDERAL NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND ARMY OFFICERS, BEFORE GOING ON TO TALKS WITH THE NIGERIAN MILITARY LEADER, MAJOR-GENERAL YAKUBU GOWON.

    WITH THE PRIME MINISTER ON HIS VISIT WAS JUNIOR MINISTER MR MAURICE FOLEY, THE DEPUTY UNDER-SECRETARY AT THE FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH OFFICE, SIR LESLIE MONSON, AND LORD HUNT, WHO VISITED NIGERIA LAST JUNE TO STUDY RELIED NEEDS FOR WAR VICTIMS.

    AFTER A SUBSEQUENT OPENING ROUND OF DISCUSSIONS, MR WILSON MADE A TWO-DAY VISIT TO WAR-FRONT AREA, WHERE HE MET LOCAL OFFICIALS AND SOME OF THE NIGERIAN PEOPLE.
