  • Description

A new bus terminal of exciting design, executed by famous Italian Architect Pier Luigi Nervi, was dedicated in New York City (Manhattan Island) Thursday (17 January).

The bus terminal is at the New York side of the soaring George Washington Bridge, which spans the Hudson River and connects New York City with the state of New Jersey, immediately to the west.

Architect Nervi is considered a master of construction with reinforced concrete. The Rome Olympic Stadium is one of his most famous projects.

The new bus terminal now will be a center for bus transportation in and out of New York City via the George Washington Bridge, named after the first president of the United States. The terminal replaces a jumble of terminals in the area, which has been used by various individual bus companies.
