Background: "Well,not a question of the Asian community wanting to see a transitional period, or anything like this - I think this is a matter that has to be dealt with by the two major groups - you will appreciate the fact that the Asian and coloured communities are a minority, and couldn't really decide on the future of Rhodesia politically - but as an Asian community we feel that the aspirations of the African is paramount, and in this direction we would go along supporting anything that, you know, they would put forward."
"As you know, if you look at the back-ground of coloured people, they are (INDISTINCT) as the African people." - Does this mean the coloured community wholeheartedly supports the black cause in Rhodesia? - "I would say yes - quite a number of years back, I was a great believer in the multi-racial state - I worked tremendously hard for this - but my experience in these political parties (INDISTINCT) DISILLUSIONED from within, and I would say that I am disillusioned with multi-racialism."
